2025 Facility Custodial Services Proposal Requested
The Aurora R-VIII School District is requesting bids/proposals for custodial services. Project/bid specifications and additional information may be obtained by contacting the Central Office at 417-678-3373 or visiting the Aurora R-VIII School District Central Office at 201 South Madison Avenue, Aurora, Missouri 65605. Bid / Proposals labeled “2025 Facilities Custodial Services Proposal” will be received at Aurora R-VIII District Central Office until 12:00 (noon) (CST) on February 20, 2025. Questions regarding the proposal may be directed to Brad Boettler at 417-678-3373 or bboettler@aurorar8.org, 201 South Madison Avenue, Aurora, Missouri 65605. A pre-bid walk-through will held at 9:00 am on Friday, January 31, 2025, starting at Central Office.
Due to frigid temperatures overnight and in the morning; plus the sleet/snow on untreated rural roads-school will not be in session tomorrow-1/6/25. It will be AMI #1.

Professional development: Strategies to increase student and teacher engagement.
AHS Sources of Strength and YEP have partnered with the City of Aurora to display some Houn Dawg Spirit.

The Houn Dawg Clothing Closet is open the 3rd Thursday of each month (September through May). They have various sizes of clothing and shoes, in addition to hygiene items. Located behind Robinson Schools.

The KY 3 Weather Tour is still on for tonight. Doors open at 4:30 PM at Aurora High School. Come join the fun.
KY 3 is also doing a feature story on the history of the Houn Dawg. This will be featured tomorrow morning at 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00 AM.

It's Homecoming Week! We begin our homecoming celebrations tomorrow as our Dawgs prepare to take on Marshfield Friday night at Kelley Field.
We are kicking the week off with spirit dress-up days to go with our theme, "Aurora Music Festival!" Students, check your email to find out which teacher to check in with to earn points for your class in the Spirit Competition.
We encourage the community to participate in support of the students of the Aurora School District.
Tonight's AHS Homecoming Bonfire has been cancelled due to the large amounts of rain saturating the field west of the high school. There is also another chance of rain this afternoon. We are working with the Booster Club to create an appropriate option later this week to help celebrate school spirit.
FFA back to school swim party for all Ag students at the Aurora City Pool
Our second annual Houn Dawg Freshmen Academy is approaching soon. If you are an incoming freshman we look forward to seeing at this event. Students will have the opportunity to pick up their Chromebook ($10 fee), run through their schedules, meet their teachers, meet with counselors, and explore different clubs/sports.
