Aurora High School

Due to rain chances in the forecast on Friday, Aurora High School graduation ceremonies will be held in the High School gym on Friday, May 13th at 7:00 PM. Doors will open at 6:15 and tickets are required to enter the gym until 6:50. At 6:50 any available seats will be filled. Each graduate has received 10 tickets. There will also be open seating in the commons and the ceremony will be live streamed on Aurora High School Facebook page.

AHS Honors 3 and English 3 students completed a walking tour of Greenwood District-Tulsa experiencing history depicted in the book Dreamland Burning. Sites included the Greenwood Cultural Center, Black Wall Street, and John Hope Franklin Center for Reconciliation Park.

Thursday, May 5th at Aurora High School we will hold our annual National Honors Society induction at 6:00. At 7:00 we will have our Senior Awards/Scholarship ceremony.

Every year, the Aurora R8 School District recognizes its honor graduates using the Laude system. There are three levels of recognition in this system based on the final weighted grades at the end of the student's 7th semester. The three levels of recognition are: Summa Cum Laude - "with highest praise" Magna Cum Laude - "with great praise" Cum Laude - "with praise" We are pleased to announce the following honor graduates. AGRICULTURE STUDENTS EARN HONORS AT STATE COMPETITION In the State Chapter Activity Program, the Aurora FFA Chapter earned a 3-Star chapter rating with a final placing of 15th, this award is only given to the top 10% of the 353 chapters in Missouri. Students enrolled in the Aurora Agricultural Education program competed in different Career Development Events held during the 94th annual Missouri State FFA Convention at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Fifteen students earned state gold medals during their competitive events. In addition, 21 students competed in their first in-person state FFA competitive event. We could not be more proud of these students. They have played challenging literature and played it very well. Today, the high school band performed at MSHSAA Large Ensemble Festival at Logan-Rogersville High School and received an exemplary rating, the highest that can be received. Robert Wagner earned 4th Place in "Networking Infrastructure" Robert has earned the honor of competing at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Chicago, IL June 30-July 2, 2022 The Parliamentary Procedure team of Brittany Simagna, Carissa Simagna, Ethan Wolf, and Cooper Blackburn earned 8th Place at the MO State Leadership Conference.
