2022-2023 Aurora Teacher of the Year
I married my wife (Ivy) 28 years ago and both our daughters (Karina and Maciah) are Aurora Houn` Dawg graduates. We moved here from Joplin 12 years ago and I am finishing my 27th year teaching. I have a Masters in Administration and a BSED from Oklahoma Baptist University.
My goal in education is to get every student to improve through MATH. I try to Motivate them to want to improve, teach them that Asking questions is the fastest way to learn what they do not understand, that everyone tries a little in school, but Trying harder by putting in extra work is better, and that when you are able to do something well, you should Help others do the same.
I’m grateful for my family, influential educators, students, parents, and Jesus as my Savior.
